The challenges of transformation need to be addressed on different governmental levels. The framework has to be set at the international level. Concrete action and implementation strategies take place at the regional level and vary depending on the initial situation. However, there will be no one-size-fits-all answer. But one recipe for success when it comes to adaptation and avoidance strategies is to involve relevant players that, with their knowledge and experience, can develop reliable results while balancing conflicting goals. This is how they contribute to strengthening acceptance of the transition and achieving social balance. The event will introduce concrete examples from around the world of how the transition can be successfully managed on the ground.
