Germany can expect to see steep price increases again in the autumn, Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel said in an interview with the “Rheinische Post” newspaper. For this reason, he made clear that “given the high rates of inflation, further interest rate steps need to be taken”. It will furthermore be crucial to keep medium-term inflation expectations stable at 2%, he added.
