On February 1st, 2024 the European Symposium “Cybersecurity for Europe – Integrating the Consumer Perspective” will take place in Dresden. The aim of the event is to discuss consumer protection issues in the context of the European Cyber Resilience Act expected for 2024.On the one hand, the symposium will present the approach of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as a model for integrating digital consumer protection into cybersecurity organisations. On the other hand, we will discuss the interests and requirements of consumers in cybersecurity and its regulation in order to promote a consumer-friendly design of products and services and to achieve understanding and acceptance for consumer concerns in cybersecurity organisations.The keynote address will be given by Claudia Plattner, President of the Federal Office for Information Security. The speakers come from different European organisations relevant in the field (for example BEUC, ANEC). The program of the event will be available October 20th, 2023. We are expecting representatives from European cybersecurity organisations as guests, consumer organisations and other interested parties.Participation in the symposium is free of charge. ________________________________________________________Am 1. Februar 2024 findet das Europäische Symposium “Cybersecurity for Europe – Integrating the Consumer Perspective” in Dresden statt. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, die Verbraucherschutzproblematik im Kontext der für 2024 geplanten Verabschiedung des Cyber Resilience Act zu diskutieren.Das Symposium wird zum einen den Ansatz des Bundesamtes für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) als Modell für die Integration des digitalen Verbraucherschutzes in Cybersecurity-Organisationen vorstellen. Zum anderen werden wir die Interessen und Anforderungen von Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher an die Cybersicherheit und deren Regulierung diskutieren, um eine verbraucherfreundliche Gestaltung von Produkten und Dienstleistungen zu fördern und Verständnis und Akzeptanz für Verbraucherbelange in Cybersicherheitsorganisationen zu erreichen. Die Keynote hält Claudia Plattner, Präsidentin des BSI. Weitere Referentinnen und Referenten vertreten unterschiedliche europäische Organisationen (beispielsweise BEUC, ANEC). Das Programm wird bis zum 20. Oktober 2023 bereitgestellt.Als Gäste erwarten wir unter anderem Vertreterinnen und Vertreter europäischer Cybersicherheitsorganisationen, Verbraucherorganisationen und anderer interessierter Gruppen.Die Teilnahme am Symposium ist kostenfrei.
